Ronald McDonald House: Bring your donations to the office or the General Meeting.
Pennies – Your spare change can make a big difference in helping to provide stability and resources for families of a very sick child who is in a nearby hospital.
Pull Tabs – Collecting pull tabs is a great way to teach kids (of all ages) about philanthropy and the importance of recycling while raising funds to help a sick child and their families.
Janet Goeske Foundation: Food Pantry – JGF provides items to seniors in need, as available. Lets help make sure the pantry is stocked! Bring donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries (unopened and not expired) to our General Meetings on the 1st Saturday of each month.
AAUW: We are helping AAUW (American Association University Women) to bring young-age reading books for teachers to hand out to students. These may be the first books that a child has owned! Needing books in the T-K and Kindergarten age group (4-6 yr olds). Bring to any of our monthly General Meetings.
Restaurant Monthly Fundraiser: Help our Chapter earn funds to keep the office running. Check the newsletter and Home page of this website to see which restaurant is featured each month. The date, time span and address will be on the flyers. You MUST print the flyer and take with you to the restaurant for our Chapter to receive funds. Thank you for your support!
TaxAide – Offered in our office February through April 15th. You must call the office to make an appointment. Offered on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. We suggest to call in early January to schedule your appointment, they fill quickly!
We offer free volunteer-based tax preparation help to anyone, with special attention to older, low- to moderate-income seniors. We understand that many individuals may miss out on credits and deductions they’ve earned because they can’t afford to pay for professional tax preparation.
Front desk receptionist: Works one to two days a month on the front desk at the office. Monday or Thursday mornings during office hours. Please call the office to join our fun loving team!
TaxAide: Be a Volunteer- With the help of people like you, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax-filing help to those who need it most. We’re looking for compassionate and friendly individuals to join our team of local volunteers for the upcoming tax season. Experience isn’t necessary — we’ll provide training and IRS certification. This is the largest free, volunteer-run Tax preparation and assistance in the nation. As our current volunteers tell us, you’ll not only learn new skills, but also get a great feeling from helping someone else. There are several sites here in Riverside that can use volunteers. Come join the team! If interested please call the office.
General Meeting Helpers: On the 1st Saturday of each month, starting at 8:30am. We have many small jobs that we could use help in accomplishing. Includes – set-up (tablecloths, notices, etc on tables), refreshments & coffee tables, man check-in table, sell raffle & 50/50 tickets, receive and check JGF Pantry donations, and lastly clean-up (fold tablecloths, pick up papers & trash). Please call the office to let us know if you are interested in helping make these meetings enjoyable for our members.
